Profession: Flight Tutor

Personality: Star Catcher is a very calm and sweet pony. She is able to take charge in a way that makes most everyone happy and can get things done quickly in a group. She is very good with children and is very patient. She has a lot of information to give to anyone who will listen. Despite this, her profession mean she can sometimes treat others like children by accident and it ends up making some people not want to talk to her as much. She is working of fixing this flaw. 

Appearance: The blue tips on her wing are what she's named for. When she was born her parents made a joke that Luna had grabbed a star from the sky and sent it to them in the form of a filly and where Luna grabbed the star ended up being her wings. Obviously this isn't true but because of the running joke, they named her after it. 

History: When Star Catcher was a child, she wasn't a very good flier and often times would get extremely frustrated with herself. One day after flight school she stumbled upon another filly by the name of Surprise who was crying. Apparently, Surprise kept messing up on a trick she was trying to do and was so frustrated and angry with herself that she was about to give up all together. Star Catcher and her naturally calm and encouraging demeanor talked to her and gave her the extra encouragement she needed to pull off the trick. After that she gained her cutie mark and was still a bit confused about her destiny but just decided to keep doing what she was doing. 
After this she slowly began to learn to treat herself and her own failures like how she treated Surprise. Calm, forgiving, and patient. It was then she finally got flying down packed and she began putting that philosophy to everything she did. The idea that failure is fine most of the time and that it helps one learn. 
As she got better with flying, she considered opening her own private tutoring service for fillies and colts that need extra help learning to fly. She was only completely positive of this choice when she heard that the same pony she first encouraged, Surprise, had become a wonderbolt.

Hypothetical Show-Role: A one-off pony like Cheese Sandwich or Moon Dancer.

Hypothetical Episode theme: Scootaloo comes to her because she hears other fillies talking about a tutor for flying. Through a long series of events while she doesn't entirely teach Scootaloo how to fly, Star Catcher teaches her to not only be patient about learning to fly but also to be patient with herself and learn from her mistakes. 

Star Catcher is based off of the G3 Pony of the same name.
